A current resident DJ at NextDoor, Matt Ratt’s DJing roots in Chinatown run deep – back to the days of Club Pauahi and Studio 1. Matt Ratt came of age in a neighborhood and culture meant to make people dance. A DJ deft at playing many genres, Matt Ratt is well-versed in hip-hop, indie rock, electro, ’80s and almost any other sounds that will make you move. His rich talents are evidenced by his being the opener for national headlining acts such as Toro Y Moi, Menomena, Flying Lotus and DJ Craze.

Matt Ratt is a perfect fit for spinning at Hallowbaloo’s Saturday street festival. Hallowbaloo is all about introducing people to the many attributes of the district, and few are better equipped to be a musical ambassador for the festival and district. Matt Ratt’s been there since the beginning, remains at the forefront of today and continues to strongly support Arts District weeklies such as Kaleidoscope and Broadcast. He also has the ideal personality to wear the ambassador’s hat with his being prone to give friends and fans high fives during his sets. Our guess is there will be more than one of you lucky enough to get one this Hallowbaloo.
