Nocturna is one of the hardest working individuals in the Honolulu DJ biz. She’s been a relevant DJ in Honolulu for more than 12 years, including being host of the KTUH radio show, “Feast of Friends,” broadcast every Saturday evening from 6pm-9pm.
As a promoter, DJ Nocturna can throw a party together like no other. Wherever Nocturna goes, so go legions of fans. With a grown-up take on all things goth, fantasy, sci-fi, ’80s, darkwave, industrial, vampiric and odd, Nocturna’s long-time fans have flocked to her weekly and monthly parties such as Acid Wash Wednesdays at NextDoor, Thank God It’s Thursday at Lotus Soundbar, ’80s Pop Muzik at Bar 35 and Camera Obscura at theVenue.
“I’m just trying to reach out to more people. It’s not just for goth people. It’s for anybody,” Nocturna told The 808 Scene Zine. True to her word, DJ Nocturna is always approachable. She creates a sonic and club space that welcomes all who have great imagination and are open to being lost in another world. At Hallowbaloo, Nocturna holds court on the Mercury Stage at
Zombie Alley from 7pm-10pm. You could search high and low the world over and still not find a better host of Hallowbaloo’s cadre of zombies and all their followers and curious onlookers.
